Spend, save, give is a classic way to manage your money. Give your grade 3-5 students an intro to thoughtfully and responsibly using money with this “Spending, Saving, Giving” lesson and accompanying worksheet. It’s all part of our Adventures in Math resource center!
What’s in the “Spending, Saving, Giving” lesson?
This lesson is divided into two parts:
Part 1—Making and Planning a Budget: Use the Using Money Wisely activity sheet to guide students through making decisions about using money.
Part 2—Keeping Records: Give students a money-based word problem that they must solve using mental math. Not being able to write it down helps reinforce why it’s important to keep accurate records, especially when using the spend, save, give method.
